INTERArChTIVE commission exhibition
INTERArChTIVE has commissioned Dr Mette Ramsgard Thomsen (School of Architecture and Design, University of Brighton) and Karin Bech to develop the interactive installation Slow Furl for architecture08, at Lighthouse in Brighton. They will make a room-sized textile installation that acts and reacts on its inhabitation. Slow Furl exists as a soft and pliable skin which engages with the physical presence of its guests. Users are invited to touch, to sit, or lie within its soft skins. This work has been commissioned by INTERArChTIVE, a consortium of Lighthouse (Brighton), Interactive Architecture dot Org, RIBA Sussex Branch and Architecture Centre Network, and is supported by the School of Architecture and Design, University of Brighton. Funded by Arts Council England, Lighthouse (Brighton) and RIBA (Sussex Branch).
