ARTISTS DON'T BITE

“Artists don't Bite” by Margherita Gramegna open in Maidstone from 28June-5July 2008. The project - supported by funding from Arts Council England, South East - feature interviews with artists who have been invited to pitch an idea for an art project in response to their vision for Maidstone. The filmed interviews are presented in several venues within Maidstone town centre 24 hours a day. Venues includes the Hazlitt Theatre, the Centre Town Hall, the Royal Star Arcade, The Ashes, Ethos plus some other local popular meeting points. During the installation week Margherita will film and interview members of the public and passers by about their responses to the ideas proposed by the artists and get them to vote for their favourite pitch or the most inspiring artist. The best entry will be announced during the ‘closing night event’ the 25 of July.
